Anti-Aircraft Unit Will Perform Airspace Protection
One of NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days’ participant is also 25th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment Strakonice. Therefore the visitors may have an opportunity to become acquainted with equipment which is used for protection of the Czech airspace.
The regiment will protect 7th Mechanized Brigade ground unit against hostile aerial attacks during its dynamic display with help of anti-aircraft missile complex RBS-70 and S-10M2D.
People interested in this kind of equipment can also visit the static display which will compose of SURN CZ radar vehicle with 2P25 missile launchers creating altogether a mobile surface-to-air missile complex 2K12 KUB. Furthermore the presentation will offer a man-portable air-defense system RBS-70 and surface-to-air missile short-range S-10M2D vehicle, light armoured Dingo vehicle or Tatra truck PVO, which is used for RBS-70 transportation. Last but not least, the display will show command and control systems PUPoSy and RACCOS, or aerial observer’s devices.
Moreover, Sergeant Denis Humr and Corporal Milan Šlehubr will be awarded a plaque for the best operators of Swedish RBS-70 system during NATO Days programme. “This prestigious prize is annually awarded by Saab consortium in cooperation with 25th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment. The rewarded operators usually win a study week in Sweden provided by Saab Bofors Dynamics division, the producer of RBS-70 surface-to-air system,” stressed Col. Vladimír Barča, Commander of Strakonice Regiment.
