Army of the Czech Republic will present the highest number of displays
Attack of mechanised platoon, rescuing of a hostage, helicopter squadron display. These and many more dynamic and static displays will be presented by Armed Forces of the Czech Republic at this year’s NATO Days & Czech Air Force Days in Ostrava. The Czech Army plays also an irreplaceable role in logistics of the event and it will have the biggest presentation of displays. They have prepared twelve dynamic displays in total.
“Army of the Czech Republic are the key participant. Not only it provides lot of the ground and air displays, but it also takes care of logistic support and therefore helps with organisation of the event,” says Zbyněk Pavlačík, Chairman of Jagello 2000.
Czech soldiers will show almost everything they possess at the Leoš Janáček Airport, including ground and air equipment. For example, 73rd Tank Battalion will present very interesting display of mechanised platoon’s attack taken care by 7th mechanic brigade. Apart from that, 53rd regiment of electronic fight will show the process of rescuing a hostage, with the support of three helicopters. They have also prepared a presentation of armoured vehicles.
Air Force will also play an important part. Army pilot from 211th Tactical Squadron will present what JAS 39 Gripen is capable of. “Presentation of 221th Helicopter Squadron from Náměšť nad Oslavou will also be interesting. It will present two Mi-24s in action,” Pavlačík adds. Air display of L-159 aircraft is also part of their presentation.
Static displays will be very attractive for visitors as well. They will have an opportunity to take a closer look at double engine multifunctional helicopter W-3A Sokol, bulldozer 6, mine thrower MV-3, autograder 120M and many more machines developed for transport, fight or support.
Army sport centre Dukla will also have its own exposition featuring famous and successful army athletes. On Saturday, runner Pavel Maslák will be at the event and on Sunday you will have an opportunity to see rower Ondřej Synek.
On 12th of March, Czech Republic celebrated 15th anniversary of accession to NATO. “Events that are happening in Ukraine show that security is not for free and sovereignty is not granted. That’s why it is important to present skills and equipment of Czech Armed Forces to the public. The visitors of NATO Days will have an opportunity to see how our army contributes to Allied Forces,” the main organizer concludes.
