CSG and Tatra will showcase the latest vehicles, military equipment, and electronic systems
NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days present an annual opportunity for the public to discover the latest innovations from the armed forces of the Czech Republic and NATO allies, as well as the newest technologies and products from the Czech defence industry. A significant part of this industry includes companies within the Czechoslovak Group (CSG) and theTatra Trucks automotive manufacturer, which have long supported and participated in NATO Days and similar exhibitions in the Czech Republic.
CSG and Tatra Trucks have been special partners of NATO Days, a prestigious event and one of the largest events of its kind in Europe, for several years. This year, both Kopřivnice-based Tatra Trucks and the associated company Tatra Defence Vehicle, along with the Pardubice firm Retia, will be featured at NATO Days, showcasing their products to experts and the public.
The highlight at the CSG and Tatra group's stand will be a new logistics truck, the Tatra Force of the latest third generation, which had its world premiere a few months ago at the Eurosatory 2024 exhibition in Paris. It is a completely new, universal vehicle that can be equipped with a wide range of engines, including modern air-cooled eight and twelve-cylinder Tatra engines. The new cabin offers entirely new crew ergonomics, including a digital dashboard and advanced electronics. Vehicles in this series can be fitted with standard cabins featuring numerous safety elements, as well as new armoured cabins with high levels of protection.
Tatra will also exhibit a number of other vehicles on the open exhibition area. For example, the latest generation of the Tatra Phoenix model series, which had its world premiere a few weeks ago in Kopřivnice. In addition to this novelty, visitors will also see the proven Tatra Force 2nd generation vehicles with 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8 chassis, and there will also be a hook loader on the Tatra Phoenix chassis. Dozens of other Tatras will be on display in the stands of the Czech Army or rescue services, i.e. firefighters and the Police of the Czech Republic.
Tatra Defence Vehicle (TDV), which will also be featured at the Mošnov airport, specializes in the development and production of wheeled armoured vehicles. TDV manufactures, for example, the well-known Pandur II 8x8 armoured vehicles and TITUS armoured vehicles. A few weeks ago, TDV delivered the final units of the 62 ordered TITUS vehicles to the Czech Army, which were developed and produced in accordance with the army's requirements in command and control (KOVS), command and staff (KOVVŠ), and fire support coordination versions (MKPP). TDV also specializes in the development and production of armoured cabins for Tatra vehicles. One of these cabins will be on display on the previously mentioned Tatra Phoenix military vehicle with a hook loader, which Tatra will be showcasing at NATO Days.
The NATO Days will also feature Retia, a Pardubice-based supplier of modern radar and electronic systems. Among other contributions, Retia was involved in supplying TITUS vehicles to the Czech Army, having developed some of the electronic systems for them. In addition to electronic systems, Retia's expertise includes radar and recording systems. At NATO Days, Retia will present its ReGuard multipurpose 3D radar for detecting and tracking ground and low-flying targets. This highly compact radar, due to its technical parameters, is suitable for counter-drone systems, and Retia has integrated it into its new ReCas counter-drone system. Retia will also showcase the small portable ReTwis 5+ radar, capable of detecting living targets behind walls or other non-metallic obstacles. This compact device is already in use by some security forces in the Czech Republic, the USA, and elsewhere.
