MESIT: an indispensable part of combat equipment
Military equipment can only be as strong as each of its components. Great emphasis must be placed on the production of all parts, whether they are electronic systems or mechanical components. This particular aspect of production is provided by the main partner of NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days – the MESIT holding company, a member of the OMNIPOL group, which specialises in the development and manufacturing of advanced technological devices and systems. Their products are found inside armoured vehicles and modern aircraft.
The MESIT brand encompasses sophisticated electronic systems which, although not immediately visible, form a crucial part of the internal equipment of aircraft and combat vehicles. For example, it supplies the Czech Army with communication devices for IVECO, DINGO, and PANDUR II vehicles.
The MESIT group of companies is also a long-standing supplier to major domestic aviation manufacturers and has been involved in the modernisation of the group's two latest aircraft models, the L-39NG and the L 410 NG. For example, MESIT asd, s.r.o. developed and currently supplies several key aviation systems for the L 410 NG aircraft. These include the fuel measurement system, electronic elements for airframe de-icing control, windshield heating, cabin air conditioning control, and a system for monitoring electrical power used for heating static pressure probes and total pressure.
Innovations are also present in the latest L-39NG aircraft. At MESIT asd, s.r.o.’s research and development department, a wide range of new products have been and continue to be created, covering a broad spectrum of aircraft functions. These include not only basic flight control but also ensuring communication between the crew, control of onboard armament, and the regulation of air conditioning and landing gear.
The same emphasis on quality is applied to mechanical components intended for ground defence technology. At MESIT machinery, a.s., high-quality aluminium castings are produced using the lost-wax casting method. In 2022, they developed a unique robotic workstation for the solidification of aluminium castings. The control of the solidification process minimises porosity, enhances mechanical properties, and reduces casting deformation. MESIT machinery also has the capability to machine the castings and provide high-quality surface protection. This comprehensive range of engineering services meets the demands of the most discerning customers in the aviation and defence industries.
The MESIT group of companies builds on a tradition of developing and manufacturing aircraft instruments. MESIT asd offers expertise not only in the development of aircraft systems tested in its own development laboratories but also in software certification knowledge according to RTCA/DO-178 standards. The company also has a long-standing presence in the defence sector. For military combat vehicles, it supplies tactical communication systems with a wide range of components – radios, intercoms, headsets, and the latest PA system (extercom) for addressing the surroundings.
MESIT machinery offers a comprehensive range of engineering services “under one roof” – precision castings, including high-precision CNC machining and quality surface finishes for the aviation and defence industries. They specialise in technologically demanding projects and have the expertise to produce complex and thin-walled castings using the lost-wax casting method.
