20.03.2025, 11:30

In exactly six months, the gates of the 25th NATO Days in Ostrava & the 16th Czech Air Force Days will open and on that occasion we begin to announce the confirmed participants. The first of them is one of the most famous aerobatic groups in the world, the Red Arrows, which will dominate the skies over the Leos Janacek Ostrava Airport for the third time.

The Red Arrows of the British Royal Air Force first appeared in Ostrava in 2006, when they performed as the first aerobatic group in the history of the event.

“The Red Arrows’ first participation significantly contributed to the international prestige of our event and opened the doors to Ostrava for other exclusive foreign participants. They presented themselves here for the second time in 2012 and in the meantime NATO Days have transformed beyond recognition,” says Zbyněk Pavlačík, Chairman of Jagello 2000. “We are so honored that we can announce such a significant group as the first participant in this year’s anniversary year and we are happy that they are returning to us after so many years.”

The Red Arrows aerobatic group was founded in 1964 and performs with nine Hawk aircraft. It is famous for its precise and tight formations during its performances. All its pilots have extensive experience of combat deployment on supersonic aircraft such as the Eurofighter Typhoon.

The BAE Hawk T1 is a British single-engine jet trainer. Its prototype first flew in 1974 and is still in production today. In addition to the British Royal Air Force, the main users include the air forces of India, Finland and Indonesia. Thanks to its agility and robust construction, it is popular not only for training, but also for aerobatic performances. In addition to the British Red Arrows, the Finnish Midnight Hawks and Saudi Hawks from Saudi Arabia performed with these machines over the Ostrava airport.

“Six months before the event, we are starting to announce this year's participants. Other attractive and premiere performances are in the pipeline, and we therefore believe that this anniversary year will be a special one and that we will make up for last year's cancelled year with it for our fans and regular visitors,” concludes Pavlačík.
