The Czech Police will once again bring a number of demonstrations and ensure safety
It would be almost impossible to imagine NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days without the participation of security forces. Even this year, the traditional presentation of the largest of them - the Police of the Czech Republic - cannot be missing. For the first time, it will showcase their cooperation with the Polish special unit AGAT.
After the Czech Army, the Police of the Czech Republic is the second most significant and essential co-organiser of the event. In addition to ensuring the safe and smooth running of the event, they have prepared three attractive dynamic demonstrations and an extensive static exhibition for the visitors.
“The fact that our safety is not something to be taken for granted applies equally to both external and internal security. The Czech Republic is one of the safest countries in the world, and we owe this for the most part to the professionalism and hard work of our police force,” says Zbyněk Pavlačík, Chairman of Jagello 2000. “This year’s display will also highlight the value of international cooperation, with the dynamic demonstration showing how effectively the Police Task Force, in tandem with the Polish special unit AGAT and a police helicopter, can free hostages from the hands of terrorists.”
The Alien Police will also be on display, showing, with the support of the Czech Police Aviation Service’s helicopter, how they deal with perpetrators who have attacked a police escort. There will also be a popular demonstration by the Police Canine Unit, where four-legged helpers will uncompromisingly intervene against dangerous offenders.
At the static displays, visitors will be able to view the equipment and weapons of the riot and task force units, as well as the vehicle fleet of the traffic police. The Recruitment and Prevention Department will have stands where visitors can learn about the nature of police service.
The AGAT Military Unit is one of the special light formations under the Special Forces Command of the Polish Armed Forces. It made its debut at NATO Days in 2016, but pairing with the Czech Police Intervention Unit is a premiere. This collaboration follows last year’s performance by their colleagues from the GROM special unit, which also participated alongside the Czech police. Their primary mission is to carry out diversionary actions behind enemy lines in order to disrupt their combat operations.
