23.04.2021, 12:51

One of the symbols of the North Atlantic Alliance, the F-16 fighter, will appear at the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days this year as well. The Greek Demo Team "Zeus" will demonstrate it in an impressive dynamic demonstration.

The F-16 multi-purpose aircraft is the most widespread model among the air forces of NATO member countries and as such has been participating in NATO Days every year since 2007. This year, however, after a two-year break, visitors they can look forward to a dynamic demonstration.

"The Greek Air Force did not present itself at our event for five long years, so we are very happy that it is returning to Mošnov with its F-16 Demo Team named after the ancient Greek ruler of the gods Zeus," says Zbyněk Pavlačík, chairman of Jagello 2000. "Our activity also contributed to this, when we successfully negotiated with the organizers of the Greek Athens Flying Week to deconflict the dates of our events."

In total, more than 4,500 F-16 aircraft have been produced, which currently serve in the air forces of ten member states of the North Atlantic Alliance, with Slovakia joining this list next year. The Greek F-16 Demo Team Zeus, which serves under the 115th Combat Wing operating in Crete, uses an aircraft in the F-16C Block 52+ version. In addition to the eye-catching coating, its specialty is that the machine has additional fuel tanks attached along the fuselage.
