A variety of aircraft equipment, including premiere displays, will arrive again from Germany

20.07.2023, 09:15

Germany is usually one of the countries with the most extensive display of equipment and this year's NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days will be no different. The Army, Air Force and Navy will present eight aircraft and helicopters, led by two A400M Atlas transport giants.

One of them will show up during flight displays, the NH-90 army helicopter, which showed its fiery show over the Mošnov airport last year, will also offer a spectacular performance. Visitors will be able to see the second Atlas both up close and from the inside at a static display, where it will be accompanied by a Tornado combat aircraft with an ammunition display and a helicopter parade. The H145M light helicopter for special forces will be presented for the first time, the NH-90 helicopter from the German Navy's arsenal will also arrive for the first time, and a second unit of the same type will be offered by the army.

"The presentation of the German Armed Forces at the NATO Days will once again be spectacular and we can look forward to a wide range of aircraft equipment including helicopters, transport, and combat aircraft," said Zbyněk Pavlačík, Chairman of Jagello 2000. "We very much appreciate the support that the German representatives have shown towards our event for a long time, their participation is still extraordinary. In addition, in the upcoming weeks we will also announce the ground equipment that will be displayed."

The H145M light multi-role helicopter, which is used by the German Bundeswehr for special operations and is one of the quietest helicopters in its class, will make its first appearance at NATO Days. It is equipped for special forces' ground and naval operations. Its predecessor, the EC 135, which has a smaller capacity and payload but is capable of higher speeds, will also return to Ostrava. Compared to them, the medium NH-90 is able to accommodate up to 20 troops, and in addition to transport, it is used primarily for search and rescue operations in its naval configuration.

Combat aircraft will be represented by the Tornado multirole aircraft, which is characterized by variable wing geometry and, depending on its equipment, is used primarily as a bomber aircraft or for reconnaissance and electronic warfare. The four-engine A400M Atlas will represent strategic transport capabilities. Both of these aircraft are also examples of European defence cooperation, they were developed in an international consortium or corporation.
