Apache Helicopter Is Strengthening the U.S. Presentation
The record year of NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days has attracted another American participation: after B-1 and B-52 bombers, convertiplane CV-22B and KC-135 Stratotanker, the attack helicopter AH-64 Apache will arrive as well.
The Apache helicopter was seen in Ostrava eight years ago in the Dutch colours on static display. In 2015, its participation had been already settled when the dynamic display was cancelled due to the denied permission from the US side. Therefore at this year’s NATO Days, the Apache will be presented for the first time ever in the American colours on static display and thus will contribute to the historic participation of the United States.
“Once again, we used the opportunity of the international exercise Ample Strike 2016, which takes place in the Czech Republic until September 20, and thanks to the U.S. military representatives’, we are able to present the equipment from this exercise also at NATO Days. Therefore, the visitors can look forward for the unique opportunity to see the bombers B-52 and B-1B from a real detail look, and further the helicopter Apache,” highlights Zbyněk Pavlačík, CEO of Jagello 2000.
Sixteen foreign countries are currently participating at the international exercise Ample Strike, including United Kingdom, Finland or Greece. This is the second year of this exercise, which is fully under the Czech Army control.
The U.S. Army has been using the multi-role combat helicopter AH-64 Apache for 32 years now for the whole spectrum of tasks, including the detection and destruction of the targets or the fire support for the ground units. American Apache has been also participating in number of wars, including the ones in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Boeing Company has already made more than 2,100 Apaches that are being used worldwide, for example in Israel, Japan or Singapore.
