Among countries that has confirmed its participation in this year's NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Republic Air Force Days appeared Austria. Visitors can look forward to a dynamic demonstration of the Eurofighter Typhoon twin-engine combat aircraft.

Just like last year, the Austrian Eurofighter, which has been a regular participant in the NATO Days since 2011, will visit the Mošnov airport. This fighter aircraft of the Austrian Air Force will once again demonstrate the power of its two engines accompanied by the legendary sound.

"At this year's NATO Days, we have already confirmed the participation of two Typhoons - Austrian and British. We are pleased that we can regularly watch these European machines at Mošnov airport, where they put on a great show thanks to their enormous performance," says Zbyněk Pavlačík, chairman of Jagello 2000. "Austria will also send a second Eurofighter to Mošnov airport, which will serve as a replacement aircraft. However, it is not out of the question that he could appear in the static demo.”

The Eurofighter Typhoon is a fourth-generation, multi-role, twin-engine fighter that shares an atypical airfoil layout with some European aircraft – the French Rafale and the Swedish Gripen – specifically, a distinctive canard delta wing. Typhoons were originally intended only for airspace protection, but in the FGR4 version they can perform a wider range of missions, including attacks on ground targets.

The Eurofighter is a symbol of European defense cooperation at the international and corporate level. The program was started at the end of the Cold War due to the need of European countries not involved in the F-16 program to modernize their air forces. The Typhoon took off for the first time in 1994. In 1998, the production of 620 units was agreed, mainly for European customers - the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain and Italy. They were joined by Austria and some Gulf states, which brings the number of units currently delivered and ordered to 700.
