Austrian Typhoon for the first time both in the air and on the ground
Austrian Air Force has sent its Eurofighter Typhoon to the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days already in 2011, but event’s visitors will have a very first opportunity to see it at static display this year. But traditional flying display will not be missing.
Austrian Eurofighters presented themselves over the Mosnov airport each year in 2011 – 2013. In those years they were not landing, but each day arrived from their home base and after a short performance returned back. It was for the first time last year when Austrian Eurofighters – one for flying display and a spare one - touched the runway of this airport. And now visitors will have finally a chance to see the aircraft at static display.
“Last year our event witnessed a historical meeting of Eurofighters of its all five European operators with 12 aircraft in total participating. We don’t expect such a number this year, but we are glad that we can offer this type again to our visitors, with a premiere static display above that,” notes Zbyněk Pavlačík, Chairman of Jagello 2000 Association.
Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine multirole supersonic fighter designed primarily for air-to-air combat, later modified also with air-to-ground capabilities. Thanks to its agility and performance it is popular at air shows. Austrian Air Force has operated 15 Typhoons since 2007, with air defence as their primary responsibility.
