Czech Air Force to present itself both solo and in joint army display

01.09.2016, 18:10

The Czech Air Force is an inevitable part of each year’s NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days, this anniversary year will be no exception. The visitors can look forward to the helicopters, combat and transport aircraft in both solo and joint dynamic displays, and an opportunity to see planes from a closer look.

Traditionally, the Czech Air Force will launch the official start of the event by the ceremonial flypast, which will once again include the Czech, Polish and Slovakian helicopters. Two aircraft will perform a solo display later on. The Mi-24 helicopter from the 22nd Helicopter Base and the combat supersonic fighter JAS-39 Gripen will show off their manoeuvring abilities. Two years ago, the Czech Republic prolonged the air fighter’s contract until 2017. Quite differently, the old Soviet Mi-24 helicopters should be replaced by the modern aircraft of the Western origin in next years.

The joint dynamic display will be performed by the light subsonic Aero L-159 Alca aircraft, which will provide close air support to ground units. During their presentation, the Alcas will also include aerobatics of their solo display. The L-159 aircraft are being used in the Czech Army as a close support to the ground troops and as training planes for the future Gripen pilots. The above mentioned dynamic display will be joined by the transport helicopters Mi-171š, which will be used for an airdrop.

„The Czech Air Force present itself in almost full strength at NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days, therefore its participation is always the largest one of all air forces,“ comments Zbyněk Pavlačík, CEO of Jagello 2000. „The Czech pilots belong to the top world class, their performances are highly demanded by the visitors for the level of their professionalism and quality of the displays,” he adds.

The static displays will include not only all air displays’ aircrafts, meaning JAS-39, L-159, Mi-24 and Mi-171š, but also the training Aero L-39 Albatros or the transport JAK-40. Furthermore, the support L-410 will provide aerial photos of this biggest security show in Europe.
