Fourth Typhoon is heading to NATO Days! Spain is sending its Display Team
At this year's NATO Days & Czech Air Force Days, visitors can look forward to an extraordinary experience. The Spanish Air Force is sending its Eurofighter Typhoon Solo Display Team, and along with the German, British, and Austrian aircraft, we are going to witness four dynamic displays of these impressive machines.
The Spanish Air and Space Force first introduced the iconic Eurofighter at this event in 2016, and this year marks its fourth appearance. The last time it was seen here was a year ago, when it also appeared alongside the British Typhoon. However, it was its first appearance that was marked by a unique event, when these aircraft of all their European operators met at the same time at Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport.
"The Spanish Eurofighter Typhoon gave an outstanding performance at last year's NATO Days, and I expect it to impress us again this year. However, gaining the audience's favour might be tough due to the competition from the other three Typhoon displays," says Zbyněk Pavlačík, Chairman of Jagello 2000. "We are delighted that our event will once again host such a unique gathering. The only time we had more Typhoons was in 2016, when five were showcased, including an Italian one, whose participation this year has not yet been indicated."
The Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine, multirole aircraft that, along with the American F/A-18 Hornet, forms the backbone of the Spanish fighter fleet. It is a fourth-generation aircraft that excels in manoeuvrability, advanced avionics, and the capability to perform a wide range of missions from air combat to strikes on ground or naval targets. The Spanish Air Force operates a total of 68 pieces in three different variants and plans to further expand their fleet as part of future modernization plans.
