German A400M for the second time in history at NATO Days
Three years after its premiere participation at NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days, the German Air Force is sending the A400M Atlas transport aircraft for static display. This is one of the latest technology that Germany can offer.
Given the workload of these aircraft in their operational deployment, A400M participation in similar events is still rare. The static demonstration of the Airbus A400M also complements the already confirmed participation of the EC-135 helicopter, the multi-purpose aircraft Panavia Tornado or the tank Leopard 2.
“The A400M is one of Europe's most modern military aircraft. Only 10 years have passed since the first flight and five years since being in service in the German Air Force and can still be considered a novelty, ”says Zbyněk Pavlačík, chairman of Jagello 2000.“ Moreover, we are pleased to welcome it again to our event, especially after its cancelled participation in 2017."
The A400M Atlas is a four-engine turboprop tactical transport aircraft with strategic capabilities developed by Airbus in cooperation with some of the Alliance countries. Its specifics include opposing rotating propellers, which improves its flight characteristics. Germany now has thirty machines and is gradually planning to replace the outgoing aircraft Transall C-160. A400M can also be found in the armament of France, Spain, Great Britain or Turkey.
