Visitors to NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days can again look forward to a wide presentation of the German Armed Forces’ aircraft. Demonstration of their armament will be sent by the Air Force, Navy, and Army.

German Ground Forces have already confirmed the participation of their armoured vehicles - tank Leopard 2, armoured vehicle Puma and wheeled transporter Boxer. These will now be joined on static displays by the German Air Force's Tornado aircraft, the Sea Lynx helicopter of the Navy, and the EC-135 helicopter from the Army’s Helicopter Training Centre.

"No other country represents itself on NATO Days for such a long time and large scale," said Jagello 2000 chairman Zbyněk Pavlačík. "We are more than happy, that we can show our visitors a legendary Tornado aircraft, which is currently being replaced in British armed forces, therefore it remains in active service only in Germany and Italy."

Panavia Tornado is a multi-purpose combat aircraft with variable wing geometry. The aircraft came up from a joint European project of the United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy, which created three variants of the aircraft for different tasks. Six German aircrafts in a reconnaissance modification supported the Alliance mission in Afghanistan between 2007 and 2010.

The Sea Lynx multipurpose helicopter could be seen by visitors last year, used by the German Navy mainly for reconnaissance, in this role it was also deployed in Operation Atalanta against pirates at Somalia. Its advantages include the possibility of operating from frigates and cruisers.

Eurocopter EC-135 helicopter is also known to viewers from previous years, the army uses it to train new pilots at the International Helicopter Training Centre. However, if the EC-135 is not available, it can be replaced by the Bell 206.

"This is not a final setup, the participation of other German technology and non-military units is still being negotiated, we will bring more informations about it when the negotiations are closed," adds Pavlacik.
