IMPORTANT: SECURITY MEASURES BEFORE COMING TO THE EVENT
This year, NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days include several innovations that you should be aware of before setting off for the premises of the event.
Since the beginning we have been aiming to increase the security standards at our event. Therefore, Visiting Rules are in place at Leoš Janáček Airport in Ostrava where the event is taking place. Our long-term goal is your satisfaction, that is why we also created Code of the Event.
Overall security of participants and visitors of the event is a clear priority over any other goals of the event or its program. In order to keep this rule, we kindly ask you to get acquainted not only with the Visiting Rules but also with the following instructions. Additionally, we reserve the right to deny entrance to the premises of the event or to order anyone out of the premises at any time and even without giving the reason.
This year, one of the introduced innovations are security checks at all the entrances to the site. These security checks, however, are the absolute standard at events of this size and format (e.g. Colours of Ostrava, Golden Spike Ostrava, Olympic Park Ostrava). The purpose of this decision is not only to increase security of the visitors but also to heed mentioned security rules more strictly. Moreover, it will also bring some limitations to the sellers at the event. Please note that due to organisational reasons we do not provide luggage storages at the event.
Please enjoy excellent program of this year´s NATO Days in Ostrava and Czech Air Force Days. Therefore, we recommend to limit number and size of your luggage. The less of backpacks and large luggage will have to be checked at the gates, the more comfortable and smooth will your entrance be. We have prepared a set of measures which, in cooperation with you, will contribute to this end:
- security checks will start in due advance (Gate 1 and Gate 2 at 6:30 a.m., Gate 3 at 8:30 a.m.)
- since the site is being prepared during night hours as well, if possible, we will open the gates even earlier than 8:30 a.m.
Security checks from | Gates opening at | |
Gate No. 1 | 6:30 | 8:30 |
Gate No. 2 | 7:00 | 8:30 |
Gate No. 3 | 8:30 | 8:30 |
Central parking is open from 6.30 a.m.
Please note that already for several years it is forbidden according to the Visiting Rules to bring firearms of all categories (A, B, C, D) cited in Act 119/2002 of Legal Code on firearms and ammunition as well as gas guns, expansion weapons, airsoft guns, mechanic weapons (e.g. crossbow, bow), stabbing or cutting weapons (e.g. long-blade knives, machetes, hatchets) and other objects which can be used as weapons (e.g. baseball bats, batons) or objects which can be mistaken for a weapon as well as any objects which can be considered dangerous by organisers.
Other dangerous objects: explosives and pyrotechnical objects, psychoactive substances (e.g. drugs, narcotics), laser pointers, flying objects (e.g. balloons, radio models of airplanes, drones).
It is also forbidden to enter the site with animals except for dogs with specific status (e.g. police dogs, guide dogs for disabled).
Further notices:
- Do not leave the children unsupervised – persons younger than 15 years will not be allowed onto the site without an accompanying adult
- Do not wear World War II uniforms or any parts of them – entrance in uniforms is forbidden
- make sure to have an identification document on you (ID card, passport) – organisers or security service may ask you to present such document at any time
- Security cameras are installed on the site – by entering the site of the event you agree with production and possible release of audio records or video footage of you
- By entering the site of the event you agree with the Visiting Rules and Code of the Event. You are aware that their breach will result in denying the entrance to the site of expulsion from the site.
Our recommendations:
- Plan your journey to the event with enough of time reserve so that you arrive in advance (traffic jams are very likely).
- Consider not traveling with large backpacks and other luggage.
- Provide your children with ear protection and a card with contact details for responsible adult. We do not recommend participation of very little children.
- For better orientation, please have a look at a plan of access roads to the site, plan of the site itself and location of each of the sectors (marked with different colours and numbers) as well as the location of exits. It will help you navigate the site.
- Pay attention to the announcements via the loudspeakers, NATO Days Radio (where you can also listen to the commentary of the event through your mobile phone) and on the big screens. Please, notice guiding signs placed at the site.
