One of the leading corporations of the defence and aviation industry, AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE a.s., became the general partner of NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days, the biggest security show in Europe. Aside from a top-notch organisational partnership, the company will enrich the programme of this year’s NATO Days with a static display of its next-generation world-renowned flagship, the turbofan-powered AERO L-39NG aircraft, right in the middle of the event’s area.

AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE a.s., one of the leading companies of both the Czech and the international defence and aviation industry, became the general partner of this year’s NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days. “We are immensely grateful that AERO Vodochody, a company, which became a household name in the defence and aviation industry during its existence, became the general partner of the event this year. The partnership with one of the most important companies in its field further proves that NATO Days rightfully hold the title of the biggest security show in Europe,” says Zbyněk Pavlačík, the chairman of Jagello 2000.

Aside from the organisational partnership, AERO Vodochody will present itself during the programme of the event with a static display of its AERO L-39NG aircraft. The company began with the production of new components for the first four aircraft of the next generation of the legendary Albatros only several months ago. The first L-39NG with new certification is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2019.

The AERO L-39NG aircraft is based on the aerodynamic concept of its successful predecessor, the L-39 Albatros, which since the begin of its production established as one of the most-used training aircraft, with the total fly log of the fleet exceeding five million flight ours. Furthermore, the L-39NG, or “Next Generation” as is its full name, includes a plethora of highly-modern elements. For example, the L-39NG contains the FJ44-4M developer by Williams International with the TAP Blue maintenance system and a maximum thrust of 16.87 kN.

Other innovations include the so-called ‘wet wing’, a fuel tank in the wings of the aircraft, or modern cover of the cabin with new construction materials. The final transformation of the previous model results in a significant decrease of overall weight and fuel usage, and in the increase of overall speed and flight radius. Due to the technological advance of the company, the avionics of the model also underwent an important transformation – the cockpit contains a highly-advanced and transparent display.

Based on its excellent versatility, the AERO L-39NG is ready to become the ideal heir to the previous L-39 aircraft designed for basic, as well as combat training of future pilots from the air forces of countries all over the world. Also, the aircraft is designed to be used for difficult air acrobatics. Since its market launch, the L-39NG project has garnered praise from various countries, which use the current L-39, or will need new training jet planes in the near future.

AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE a.s. focuses on the development and production of civil and military aircraft. The company is the biggest aircraft producer in the Czech Republic and ranks among the oldest aircraft manufacturers in the world, as the company originally started its production in 1919. Moreover, AERO Vodochody is the historically biggest manufacturer of training jet planes in the world and remains one of the leading producers until today. In the field of aviation, the company is a stable long-term partner of a number of military air forces, while also maintaining a strong global position in the field of military training and light combat aircraft.

The company is also very active in a wide spectrum of cooperative projects and ranks among the most important partners of the biggest manufacturers in the field of civil aviation. In recent years, the company accepted responsibility not only for the production, but for the development of structural components thanks to several risk-sharing programmes.
