Poland will take over the role of the Special Partner Nation for the second time

16.03.2023, 13:15

Poland will be the Special Partner Nation of the 23rd NATO Days in Ostrava & 14th Czech Air Force Days. It was announced by the Czech President Petr Pavel on the joint press conference in Warsaw with his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda. Poland took on this role already in 2014 for the first time in the history of the entire event and is now returning to it after nine years.

Together with Sweden, Poland will become the second country to take on the role of the Special Partner Nation (SPN) for the second time. This confirms not only the excellent Czech-Polish relations, but also the intensive cooperation between the two countries in the field of security both within the North Atlantic Alliance and bilaterally.

"I am very glad that Mr. President Duda agreed that Poland will be the Special Partner Nation at the upcoming NATO Days, which are the largest event of this kind in our part of Europe. It is also an expression of how Poland approaches not only bilateral relations, but also its membership in NATO," said President Pavel

"While in 2014 Poland in the SPN was, so to speak, treading the path, now this concept has been proofed and Poland is preparing to use its possibilities to the full," adds Zbyněk Pavlačík, chairman of Jagello 2000. "Since it is one of the best militarily equipped states in Europe, we can expect a show of unique equippment, including many premieres. Visitors to the event can look forward to attractive flying displays as well as an extensive presentation of ground and special forces. We will traditionally reveal the details gradually."

NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days, as one of the few events in Europe, offers the concept of a Special Partner Nation for a unique presentation of the selected country, which can present its armed forces, security forces, but also the products of its defense and security industry.

This role is also reflected in the greater participation of important guests from the given country at the event. It can be politicians, senior representatives of the participating units and components, security experts and representatives of commercial companies. Thanks to this unique concept, NATO Days can also serve as a platform for establishing future cooperation, whether at the state or commercial level.
