Premiere of Patrouille Suisse Unfortunately Called Off
The expected premiere of the Swiss Aerobatic Group Patrouille Suisse with supersonic F-5E Tiger II jets has been unfortunately called off by the Swiss Air Force Commander. However, NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days’ visitors can look forward to the record number of exclusive premieres, besides others the Swiss Hornet Solo Display Team with the F/A-18 aircraft.
„Aerobatic group Patrouille Suisse was supposed to be one of the highlights of this year’s programme and the absolutely unexpected withdrawal of their participation is very sad news,“ says Zbyněk Pavlačík, CEO of Jagello 2000. „We will certainly strive to get their participation for the next year.“
„Due to a reduced number of available F-5s and the priority given to the daily mission, the fleet capacity let us unfortunately no other choice. This decision has no influence on the participation of the Swiss Hornet Solo Display at the Air Show. Our pilot Julien „Teddy“ Meister will perform in Ostrava,“ explains Lieutenant General Aldo Schellenberg, Swiss Air Force Commander.
The worldwide known aerobatic group appeared in the former Czechoslovakia twelve years ago at the Slovak Air Force Days SIAD, they were supposed to arrive to the Czech Republic for the first time ever. „Despite the unexpected change, there is still more than one hundred aircraft preparing for our show and we hope, that even this time the visitors will be thrilled,“ Pavlačík concludes.
