Swedish Air Force Historic Flight sends Saab 32 Lansen for a premiere display

30.08.2017, 10:41

For the fifth time in a row, the Swedish Air Force Historic Flight (SwAFHF) will participate in NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days. This year it has prepared a Central-European premiere of Saab 32 Lansen which will show its capabilities in a dynamic display.

The SwAFHF will thus present at Mošnov airport with an aircraft that the association had received to its collection just last year and which will have its debut in Central Europe at NATO Days.

CANCELLED: The Saab 32 Lansen did not arrive. The reason was technical problem, which posponed its arrival, and subsequently an unfavourable weather (18 September 2017)

“The Swedish Air Force Historic Flight represents one of the main attractions at NATO Days every year and we believe that it will be the same this year again with the premiere of Lansen,” says Zbyněk Pavlačík, the chairman of Jagello 2000, and adds: “Participation of this aircraft would not be possible without the support of the Swedish firm Saab which has been a partner of our show for years.”

Saab 32 Lansen is a two-seat, single-engine transonic aircraft that was manufactured in the 1950s by Saab. It had served both as an attack and fighter jet in the Swedish Air Force until it was replaced in fighter missions by the newly-built Saab 35 Draken and Saab 37 Viggen. Lansens were subsequently used as target tugs and even after 2000 they collected air samples at high altitude.
