The French Air Force's Mustang X Ray Demo Team will arrive for its premiere

France is expanding the ranks of foreign participants in this year's NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days. Visitors to the event can look forward to the premiere of the young Mustang X Ray Demo Team, which will also present PC-21 training aircraft for the first time at the Mošnov airport.

The Mustang X Ray Demo Team was created only in 2021 and its purpose is to present the PC-21 turboprop and demonstrate the work of the French Air Force Aviation School. The team consists of two PC-21 aircraft, but it is made up of three flight instructors - two in the position of pilots and one in the position of coach. The team's display then consists of several flyovers in formation, opposition flyovers and individual maneuvers.

"The French Air Force presents itself regularly at NATO Days, but the last time we could see a dynamic display of it was five years ago by the legendary Patrouille de France aerobatic group with Alphajet aircraft. We are very happy that we can now look forward to another aerobatic performance, namely on the PC-21's, which are replacing the Alphajets in the French Air Force's inventory," says Zbyněk Pavlačík, chairman of Jagello 2000. "After the PC-7 and PC-9, it it also means the continuation of the presentation of training aircraft produced by the Swiss company Pilatus."

The Pilatus PC-21 is a single-engine turboprop machine, which is often referred to as a training aircraft of the 21^st century, which, according to the manufacturer, reaches the parameters of jet engines with its performance. The aircraft's equipment and cockpit allow training in the control of combat aircraft, including the control of weapons and electronic warfare. Thanks to these features, it can be found in the arsenal of more than ten air forces in Europe, Asia and Austria, where it replaces both propeller and jet aircraft.
