UH-1Y Venom and Lynx will be exceptionally transported by air for the event
While most of the presented equipment for the purposes of NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days is usually transported itself or by using the public roads, this year will bring one logistical debut. Not one but straight two participants will arrive at Mošnov Airport aboard strategic transport aircraft An-124 Ruslan and C-17 Globemaster III.
One of them is UH-1Y Venom utility helicopter of the U.S. Marine Corps, debuting at NATO Days thanks to our main partner and its very own manufacturer Bell Helicopter, which will arrive at the Mošnov airport aboard C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft straight from the United States. Visitors can take a closer look at it in a sector for the special partner nation, alongside the U.S. equipment during the weekend show.
Moreover, it is not the only participant whose operator will use transport by air specifically for the purposes of NATO Days. The Lynx, Rheinmetall's infantry fighting vehicle will arrive the same way, aboard An-124 Ruslan aircraft flying from Australia. Lynx will be presented at both static and dynamic displays whereas the latter will be performed by another piece of this vehicle transported on the ground.
"Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport will for the first time experience an arrival of two aerial transport giants that will specially deliver the participating equipment. This demonstrates the great international prestige NATO Days have gained in their eighteen-year history," emphasizes Zbyněk Pavlačík, chairman of Jagello 2000 and adds: „Arrival of An-124 Ruslan with Lynx on board is expected on Monday, 10th September around 1PM.”
