University of Defence Will Present Robotic System Taros
The University of Defence is regular participant of the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days. It has taken part since the first year of the largest security show in the Europe. This time, the University will introduce tactical robotic system Taros among other.
This vehicle belongs to the category of Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV) and will be the main attraction of the Defence University exhibition. It is the result of close cooperation between the Department of Tactics of the Faculty of Military Leadership and state enterprise VOP CZ, in whose workshop in Senov near Novy Jicin it was constructed.
Unmanned devices, or UGV, are the most advanced devices used in emergency situations. They are developed for protection of lives and health of members of the armed forces in dangerous military missions and activities. Besides the typical functions of their exploratory nature they slowly move into the role of support combat vehicle.
Research and development of robotic means for the support of combat operations are conducted at the University of Defence in connection with the latest trends and requirements of digitization and robotization of battlefield. They are focusing on advanced automation processes of operational tactical processes and support of troops on the battlefield of the 21st century. System Taros snubbed public premiere at the International Defence and Security Technologies Fair IDET this year in Brno.
Visitors will be able to become acquainted with studies offer of the Defence University for the academic year 2016/17. For the third time military studies are offering a continuous five-year Master studies at the faculties of the University of Defence in Brno.
The University of Defence will also participate in the organization of the NATO Days in addition to the presentation on static display. It will take care of foreign participants, especially the pilots and crew of aircraft. This activity will be in charge of a group of students mainly from Pardubice. They are taking part at essential maintenance and pilot training on the airplanes Zlin 142 at the Air Training Centre in Pardubice right now. Meeting experienced foreign army pilots is a significant event and motivation in their further training for university students.
