Transport - by bicycle
The entrance to the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days lies just next to the international bicycle route no. 5, that leads through the Poodří and next to the yellow turist trail, that is also suitable for cyclists. Bicycle is therefore an ideal means of transport, because thanks to it you can avoid the expected complications on roads. Free bicycle storages operated by the Ostrava Municipal Police with a capacity of more than 10,000 bicycles will be located in front of all entrances to the venue, where cyclists will be able to store their bicycles.
It is not possible to enter the venue with a bicycle!
Patrols of the Ostrava Municipal Police will also be present on the above mentioned cycle path No. 5, where they will advise on the route and, if necessary, provide basic medical supervision.
Approximate distance to the venue
- from Polanka 12 km / approx. 40 min.
- from Svinov 17 km / approx. 60 min.
- from Ostrava-Jih 18 km / approx. 60 min.
- from centre of Ostrava 25 km / approx. 90 min.
Please take extra care due to increased traffic on the roads. We also urge cyclists to follow the generally known rules for their safety, including the use of helmets, mandatory for children, and reflective vests where appropriate.
The Ostrava Municipal Police is once again providing free storage for bicycles and similar transport for visitors to the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days. Officers will take cyclists to a prepared rack where cyclists will place their bicycles. It must be free of any easily removable parts, such as lights or pockets, for the possible loss of which the municipal police are not liable. Bicycles are registered according to the details on the cyclist's ID card, who receives a sticker for their bike. If a cyclist loses the label for his bicycle, he will have to wait until the last bicycle is issued, after which the remaining bicycle will be handed over to him after a handover report has been drawn up. Officers will not store bicycles without an ID card.
When driving in the sections through the Poodří Protected Landscape Area, please keep in mind that you are driving through an extremely valuable area. Thank you for respecting the prohibitions and regulations in force in protected areas. Please be respectful of nature.
Have a safe journey
to the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Day and back!
