T-17 Supporter
Although it first took off in 1972, it is still one of the most used aircraft for military training in the world. The air forces of Denmark, Pakistan, Norway and many private companies have it in their inventory. That's the summary of the MFI-17 Supporter high-wing turboprop aircraft, in the Danish Air Force it is referred to as the T-17. It is a product of the Swedish design school, developed by Malmö Flygindustri. However, it was bought by Saab AB, which is its manufacturer.
A specialty of the T-17 aircraft are seats for a three-member crew, where, in addition to the instructor and student, another passenger can sit behind them. Thanks to this, it can also be excellently used for artillery observation, reconnaissance or forward air control and liaison. In the armed version with suspended rockets and machine guns, it also proved itself in counter-insurgency military operations, for example it participated in the civil war in Biafra.
Its other features include a Lycoming IO-360-A1B6 piston engine (200hp), solid tricycle landing gear, forward-swept wings to maintain the correct center of gravity, and dual steering. A total of 462 pieces of these machines were produced.
