A pair of B-52 bombers will enhance the extensive US presence
The armed forces of the United States of America are planning a very rich participation in this year's NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days. A wide range of ground equipment and helicopters, including the CH-47 Chinook premiere, will be highlighted by two B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers.
On Saturday, exactly after ten years, one of these B-52s will perform a flying display over the Mošnov airport, and the other will be on a static display throughout the whole event. On a static display will the U.S. Air Force also send a KC-135 refuelling aircraft.
The U.S. Army will demonstrate a diverse range of helicopters. Visitors can look forward to the attack AH-64 Apache, the utility UH-60 Black Hawk and the first participation of the transport CH-47 Chinook in American colours. The static demonstration of air equipment belonging to the ground forces will be supplemented by the reconnaissance unmanned vehicle RQ-7 Shadow. However, there will also be heavy ground equipment - the main battle tank M1 Abrams, the fighting vehicle M2 Bradley and also the legendary all-terrain vehicle HMMWV.
"This impressive participation of the US armed forces supports the presentation of the North Atlantic Alliance as a special partner of this year's NATO Days, and therefore we can perceive it as a confirmation of the alliance's commitments not only to the Czech Republic, but also to the entire region of Central and Eastern Europe," emphasizes Zbyněk Pavlačík, chairman of Jagello 2000. “At the same time, it does not have to be the final list of American equipment that will be presented at the Mošnov airport this year," he concludes.
