ERA will introduce a new air traffic control system ERIS
ERIS, an air traffic control system for the approach area, movement control of aerodrome movement areas at small and medium-sized airports from ERA's workshop, is gradually gathering international references from Ukraine, Sri Lanka and Iraq. At the same time, it is an affordable alternative to military regional airports and military command and control operations at strategic and tactical levels.
The new ERIS system, together with the MSS/NEO sensor network overview system, represents a comprehensive solution providing information to both air traffic controllers and air defence unit commanders. This software product represents a whole group of systems (ERIS stands for ERA Integrated Systems) created for the purpose of air traffic control services in airspace and for the planning of civil and military flights.
Thanks to its modular design, ERIS can be adapted to various sensors and includes all air traffic control functionalities: a comprehensive picture of the overall operational situation in the monitored area, flight planning, warnings of potentially conflict situations and tools for subsequent analysis. ERIS uses a modern platform for processing data from surveillance systems using multisensory data fusion, including high-frequency radars as an alternative to taxiing radar, to control airport traffic at airport operating and apron areas.
ERIS enables the presentation of the output of overview data and related flight information: airport layout map, reference points, obstacles, weather forecast, flight plans, etc. coming from available information sources. In addition, it includes a feature called Safety Nets, which can generate alerts when potentially conflict situations are detected between moving vehicles in the air or on airfields. In addition to the basic "Safety Nets", advanced functions are available in the system for monitoring potential conflicts with regard to issued ATC permits, so-called CMAC (Conformance Monitoring for Controllers) and CATC (Conflicting ATC Clearances).
