01.08.2024, 18:05

As part of its role as a special partner nation of this year's NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days, Germany's presentation does not stop at the air force. The presentation of German equipment will offer a taste of "air assets" from the naval and land forces - two NH-90 TTH multi-role helicopters and one NH-90 Sea Lion will arrive for a spectacular dynamic and static display.

The presentation of the German armed forces has been among the most comprehensive in recent years, and since 2016, when Germany took on the role of a partner nation for the first time, it has firmly held the favour of visitors. Similar to last year, this year the land forces are also demonstrating their flying capabilities. And this through a spectacular dynamic display of the NH-90 TTH helicopter with elements of launching flares. The same machine will be available at the static display, where it will be complemented by the NH-90 Sea Lion from the Navy's arsenal..

"The German representatives have expressed their clear support for our event for many years in a row, and I am very pleased that after eight years I can see them again in the position of a special partner nation," praises Zbyněk Pavlačík, chairman of Jagello 2000. "Currently, it is also important that we can strengthen Czech-German cooperation in this way, both in the area of the security forces and the armed forces. With this goal in mind, this year we can also expect demonstrations from the German customs administration, the police, the Red Cross, and other technical components."

The NH-90 is a multi-role twin-engine helicopter manufactured by NHIndustries. It is specifically designed for the performance of a wide range of missions, including troop transport, combat support, naval operations or medical evacuation. Although high modifiability of parameters according to customer preferences is customary, it is most often produced in two variants - Tactical Transport Helicopter (TTH) for ground forces and NATO Frigate Helicopter (NFH) for naval forces. As of March 2024, 515 units have been produced and the largest operator is the German armed forces.

The NH-90 Sea Lion is a specific subtype of the naval variant of the NFH. It is a specialized machine developed directly for the German Navy for search and rescue missions (Search and Rescue - SAR), deployment of special forces and maritime reconnaissance. Germany currently operates 18 units.
