Hungary will debut a new aircraft on a static display
This year's NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days will hold another premiere. For the first time, visitors will have the opportunity to see the Hungarian Air Force's H225M transport helicopter in Mošnov.
In previous years, Hungary often showcased the JAS-39 Gripen in flight displays, which has won the Mayor's Award for Best Flight Display several times. However, this year it decided to make a change, and so it will present the H225M multipurpose helicopter from the 86th Helicopter Wing.
"This is the fifteenth time that the Hungarian Air Force has presented itself and we are pleased that once again it will be presenting something brand new," says Zbyněk Pavlačík, Chairman of Jagello 2000. "This also increases the number of interesting premieres at our event."
The H225M is a transport helicopter developed to carry out a wide range of military missions, particularly troop transport, rescue missions, and support of special forces. It stands out for its considerable durability and ability to operate in harsh climatic conditions. Not only because of these reasons, it is an important part of the armament of many armed forces in various parts of the world.
The acquisition of these machines is considered to be a major milestone in the modernisation process of the Hungarian Armed Forces. Currently, the Hungarian Air Force operates 10 units, with a total of 16 to be delivered. They are intended to replace old Soviet-era machines such as the multi-purpose Mil Mi-17.
