Statement on the current situation of COVID-19 and NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days 2020

13.03.2020, 14:12

In the last few days, for a totally understandable reason, the increasing number of visitors, fans and partners has turned to us regarding this year's 20th NATO Days in Ostrava & 11th Czech Air Force Days in the context of the emergency measures currently being taken to slow the spread of coronavirus COVID-19.

I can assure everyone that the preparations for this year's edition, which will take place on the weekend of September 19-20, are in full swing and running on schedule. Six months to the event significantly reduce the probability of a possible cancellation, and at the moment, there are no signals that this year's NATO Days in Ostrava will not be held.

In response to the actual dynamic development, we have minimized the number of business trips and meetings in the Czech Republic for the upcoming period, which we are replacing with conference calls to minimize the possibility of so called community transfer.

Jagello 2000 is fully aware of the seriousness of today's unprecedented situation, the safety of our visitors, participants, co-organizers and partners has always been, is and will be the top priority for us. Therefore, we are, of course, ready to take decision on eventual cancellation, if necessary.

On behalf of Jagello 2000, I would also like to express my sincere thanks to all our long-term partners from the Regional Hygiene Station of the Moravian-Silesian Region, the Integrated Rescue System, the Army of the Czech Republic, the Regional Authority of the Moravian-Silesian Region, the Statutory City of Ostrava and many others, who are dealing with this situation.
