The British RAF Typhoon Display Team will return to Mošnov Airport after a year
For the sixth time, the British Royal Air Force will be showing its Typhoon Display Team at the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days. Together with the aircraft of the Austrian and German Air Forces, three Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft will be presented at the Leoš Janáček Airport this year.
Great Britain thus becomes the eighth confirmed participating country of this year. The performance of the British Eurofighter is always one of the highlights of the NATO Days flying display programme. The last time we could see it was last year, but this year it promises a completely different show.
"The Display Team will arrive with a new pilot, David 'Turbo' Turnbull, who has gained a wealth of experience in combat deployments and we can certainly look forward to demonstrating the limits of this machine again. With its performance, it will also commemorate the round anniversary of the Normandy landings thanks to the special livery of the aircraft in which the Typhoon aircraft of that time flew 80 years ago," says Zbyněk Pavlačík, chairman of Jagello 2000. "An added value is also that this team plans only two performances this season in continental Europe. It is therefore an honour for us that they will demonstrate their skills with us."
The Eurofighter Typhoon is the main combat aircraft of the British Royal Air Force and serves primarily to protect the airspace. This twin-engine jet was originally developed primarily for aerial combat, but the currently most used version, the FGR4, is capable of performing a wide range of tasks, including the aforementioned short- and long-range air combat, as well as strikes on land or sea targets, and air policing. It is characterized by its delta wing and cancellous surfaces, which allow it to withstand high aerodynamic loads and perform challenging manoeuvres.
