The British Typhoon will roar over the Mošnov airport again
After four years, the British Typhoon Display Team is returning to the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days. The Eurofighter of the Royal Air Force will fly over Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport for the fifth time, but again with a new pilot.
The Eurofighter Typhoon swing-role combat aircraft was first presented at the NATO Days in a dynamic display in 2009 in British colours. Since then, this machine has been one of the regulars at the event, gaining popularity among visitors thanks to its flying abilities and the famous sound of its twin engines. It was supposed participate last year, but its participation was cancelled due to the state mourning after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
"The new display pilot for this season is Flight Lieutenant Matt Brighty, who also has extensive combat experience. So, he will certainly build on his predecessors and show the limits of this machine, but again in its own concept and a new flight configuration," says Zbyněk Pavlačík, Chairman of Jagello 2000. "Given the primary purpose of the Eurofighter, which is air combat, its performance always means a demonstration of extreme performance and great agility. And perhaps the British aircraft will not be the only one to demonstrate these features at NATO Days this year."
To perform airspace protection tasks, the Eurofighter Typhoon is equipped with two engines and its characteristic delta wing. However, manufacturers responded to the change in the security environment, and the current versions with the designation FGR4 are universal machines capable of performing a wide range of missions, including both attacks on ground targets or reconnaissance and air policing.
