The Swiss Super Puma returns with a spectacular show after three years
The visitors of the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days will have the opportunity to see an attractive display of the Swiss Super Puma Display Team over the Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava for the third time.
Two Swiss aerobatic groups performed at the previous editions of the NATO Days, and this year the Swiss Air Force prepared a big attraction for the visitors of the event in the form of yet another display team. The Super Puma Display Team with the AS332 Super Puma twin-engine multi-role helicopter will offer a dynamic display of this machine's excellent flying capabilities spiced up by the use of flares.
“Switzerland shows us the skills of its pilots in the air every year. The two previous years there were the Patrouille Suisse and PC-7 TEAM aerobatic groups, and now we can again look forward to the display of the Super Puma helicopter," said Zbyněk Pavlačík, the chairman of Jagello 2000. "They were present here for the first time during Switzerland's first-ever participation in 2012 , regular visitors can also remember their performance three years ago, when, in addition to the piloting skills, they also impressed with very impressive pyrotechnic effects.
The AS332 Super Puma multipurpose helicopter, also referred to as the H215, is an Airbus machine and is structurally based on the SA 330 Puma helicopter. In contrast, the Super Puma has more durable rotor blades, an advanced autopilot system, GPS or a collision warning system. It is used for the transport of people, but also for firefighting or rescue and search operations, in which the Swiss Air Force uses the suitability of the helicopter design for high-altitude environments.
More than a thousand AS332 machines have already been produced, and they are in service not only in Switzerland, but also in France, Spain, Brazil, and Saudi Arabia.
